This Is The Ultimate Guide To Robot Vacuum And Mop

Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

Robot vacuums and mop are getting more powerful. They pass our cleaning tests, and are able to handle various flooring. Look for models that allow you to choose between several modes, utilize their charging dock to self-empty and clean stairs.

Many of the best models are compatible with smartphones. Find an application that lets you save schedules, maps and select cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The black and gloss gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is among the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. It uses lidar to navigate and create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and alter the S1's behavior.

The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which has linoleum in the kitchen, dining area and bathrooms and a large rugs and a medium-pile. It was able to drive close to walls and even over raised thresholds without issue. However it was a bit difficult getting down the stairs in one step. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. The mop sped along on its flat side and raised itself when it reached carpets or rug.

The docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dust bin and refills its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires regular maintenance to ensure that it's operating well. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to avoid it becoming blocked. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to prevent them from getting clogged by dirt or dust. Overall the S1 is simple to maintain, especially compared to other models that require more care.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-1 robot mop and vacuum from Ecovacs is a great choice to meet your cleaning requirements. Its robot vacuum has 8,700Pa suction power and comes with a variety of advanced features like voice control and smart path planning that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mop heads actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than just dragging a pad across the surface. The mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station if needed.

The robot comes with an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It also comes with a hand vacuum that can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot can't reach. There are two water tanks that are automatically emptied or refilled. It comes with a variety of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily removes all kinds of debris, including the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, too, even though it does sometimes get hung up on the tiny area mats or rugs that I have in my house (which is something you can control by creating a virtual boundary in the application). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good with a pair of spinning mop pads that lift and scrub the floor instead of simply drag the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation when needed. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame launched the high-end X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new flagship model of  robot vacuum  and mop has even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-free maintenance, making it a clear contender for our best mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a longer side brush guarantee a thorough, customised clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, removing both fine and large debris. It is equally effective on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned the most soiled areas efficiently, while avoiding tangled pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping power is enhanced by a side brush that automatically swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.

Its navigation is smart, navigating tight spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can go from one room to the next without needing to reverse the direction. This is useful for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance technology isn't as advanced than its competitors however, and tends to leave a thick space around obstacles, which can result in missed spots.

The interface of the app is simple and well-organized. It should be easy to use by both novice and experienced users. The app allows you to schedule and manage cleanings. You can also adjust suction power, mop settings as well as view 3-D and 2D maps. It is accessible through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri and allows you to keep an eye on its progress from anywhere. You can even remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You'll require a reliable Wi-Fi connection to operate it via the app as well as external controls.

4. Roomba Q5 Pro

A robot vacuum does an excellent job of removing debris and dirt but it's not always able to be able to reach every bit of dust. It is important to clean often, at least once a week. This is particularly important for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and mop, is made to do exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your home WiFI network and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.

The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, which includes the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It has the same LIDAR mapping sensor, but saves on cost by removing mopping functions and using a less expensive plastic body.

Even though it's not able to wipe your floors, the Q5 still offers the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robotic at this price. It has a suction power of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It also comes with a smart application that lets you choose your floor's type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system to allow hands-free operation.

Its mops also impress with their 2700Pa power that can take on pet hair and dirt on carpets as well as hard floors. The Q5 was one of the few robots we tested did not show a problem with high-pile area carpets and rugs. However, it could not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't surprising as it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses a unique mapping system that lets it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums are unable to. The device also collects dust in a bigger dustbin which means you need empty it less frequently. Additionally, it has washable filters, which reduces the cost of using the device. This robot can also detect carpets and increase suction when needed. You can also mark off areas you would like to keep out of the app.
